The Wolfeboro Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to again participate in the Annual Small Business Day at the State House.

Tuck Library, Concord

 Small Business Day is an opportunity for small business owners and managers to meet New Hampshire’s top policy-makers, learn more about legislative issues that could affect your bottom line, and receive valuable information about tools to help your company grow and prosper. This event is presented in partnership with the New Hampshire Small Business Development Center and sponsored by Public Service of New Hampshire.

7:30 a.m.                 Registration & Continental Breakfast 8:00 a.m.                

Opening Remarks 

8:15 a.m.                 State Leadership Panel—Governor John Lynch, Senate President Sylvia Larsen, Senate Republican Leader Ted Gatsas, House Republican Leader Mike Whalley and House Commerce Committee Chair Tara Reardon will be asked to identify the top small business issues facing the 2008 Legislature and discuss how they will work to resolve them. 

9:15 a.m.                 Break 

9:30 a.m.                 Small Business Tool Kit – Panelists will outline higher education resources for small businesses, including business outreach, internships and other entrepreneurship programs designed to help small businesses succeed.  Panelists include:  Taylor Eighmy, Interim Vice President for Research, University of NH; Helen Giles-Gee, President, Keene State College; Tom Horgan, President & CEO, NH College & University Council; Robert E. “Skip” Meyers, President, Daniel Webster College.  Moderated by Mary Collins, State Director, NH Small Business Development Center. 

10:45 a.m.               Break 

11:00 a.m.               Communities and Consequences – Demographer Peter Francese will present key elements of a film documentary titled “Communities and Consequences.”  The documentary explores the consequences of misinformed policies at the state and municipal level that favor age-restricted housing and retirees over workers and workforce housing.

REGISTRATION: Cost is $20 per person for BIA and Capitol Connect members, as well as members of chambers participating in Small Business Day. All others $35 per person. Registration is required.
